Gold Star Breakfast 2017

Each year, the Gold Star Breakfast is a much-anticipated celebration and fundraiser to benefit the Highline Schools Foundation, which is the only nonprofit organization supporting all Highline Public Schools. Since 1999, the Highline Schools Foundation has been supporting innovation and excellence in Highline Public Schools and directly supporting students in our district in areas where state funding cannot.

All funds raised by Highline Schools Foundation help students and teachers in Highline Public Schools get the resources they need to be successful. The Foundation funds a myriad of needs in Highline—including scholarships, district athletic needs, technology, college and career readiness, early learning initiatives and basic needs for students and families. Support through donations and sponsorship play a vital role in the Foundation’s success.

Emceed by Pete Fewing, Head Coach of the Seattle University Redhawk’s men’s soccer team, this year’s Gold Star Fundraising Breakfast on Friday, April 20 at Cedarbrook Lodge will entertain, challenge, and inspire all who attend.

“Each year, this event is moving, eye-opening, and inspiring,” said Mike Yellam, Foundation Trustee. “It really brings to life the notion that every one of us has a role in supporting our students—and that together—we can have a huge collective impact on their experience while in Highline.”
