Time to Let Those Dancing Dresses Dance Again!

Project PROMise(tm)

Help send local girls to their prom in style – February is Community DRESS DRIVE Month!

Project PROMise™ is Highline School’s Foundation’s outreach program in which new and gently used formal dresses are collected from our community and given to local students in need so they can attend their prom in style!

For the 10th Annual Project PROMise, the Highline Schools Foundation is collecting beautiful new and gently worn formal dresses and gowns, shoes and accessories from throughout our community. Highline School District high school students in need will be invited to “go shopping” this spring, for the perfect dress and accessories for their prom.

Clean, new or gently used prom dresses, shoes, accessories, and jewelry can be dropped off at the Highline Schools Foundation office (located inside the Highline Public Schools district headquarters at 15675 Ambaum Blvd. SW, Burien) or the following schools and locations by March 1, 2018:

  • Burien Community Center: 14700 6th Ave SW, Burien
  • Big Picture Schools: 440 South 186th Street, Burien
  • Evergreen High School: 830 SW 116th St, Seattle
  • Highline High School: 225 S. 152nd St, Burien
  • Mount Rainier High School: 22450 19th Ave S, Des Moines
  • Tyee High School: 4424 S. 188th St, SeaTac

We accept all sizes but have a special need for small and large and plus sizes. Since proms are held in May and June, spring colors are preferred. Accessories including shoes, handbags, jewelry and wraps, and undergarments (like Spanx and strapless bras) are also needed.

The Highline Schools Foundation raises funds, gathers resources, and builds partnerships that support the students in Highline Public Schools. In 2016, the Foundation distributed over $750,000 in scholarships, grants and programs to Highline students. The Foundation is governed by a dedicated group of volunteer Trustees and is the only 501(c)(3) organization supporting all Highline Public Schools.

Since 1999, the Highline Schools Foundation has been supporting innovation and excellence in Highline Public Schools. Our funding priorities focus on programs to improve academic achievement, supporting college and career readiness, grants to teachers for engaging classroom projects, the arts, athletics, and programs that keep students in school and productive. Highline is a district full of need and opportunity. The Highline Schools Foundation is the only non-profit organization dedicated to all schools in our district—our goal is to help as many students as possible be successful!
