About

The Highline Schools Foundation was established in 1999 to support the work of Highline Public Schools which serves the communities of Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, Beverly Park, SeaTac, and White Center.

We are the only non-profit organization which supports all schools in Highline Public Schools. The foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) organization funded by private individual, corporate, and foundation contributions. While separate from Highline Public Schools, the foundation works to support the strategic priorities of the district, working to ensure that all students graduate prepared for the future that they choose.

Who We Are

We are a group of volunteer citizens who believe in and support the Highline Public Schools: “To create a path to success for every student.” We are committed to gathering resources from our community and beyond, to support this cause.

We help the community and district fulfill their purpose: EVERY STUDENT in Highline Public Schools is known by name, strength and need, and graduates prepared for the future they choose.

We believe in developing sustainable funding resources to support Highline Public School students into the future.

Programs Showcased at this year’s Gold Star Fundraising Breakfast: All of the funds raised by Highline Schools Foundation help students and teachers in Highline Public Schools get the resources they need to be successful. Project PROMise: A Cinderella Story. Project PROMise is a full day event where Highline Public School students in need get the chance to “go shopping” for the perfect prom dress, shoes and accessories – all for free!

Equity Guides Teacher of the Year. The Highline Schools Foundation’s Gold Star Awards are prestigious honors in our school community, recognizing Highline Public Schools’ best and brightest Teachers, Volunteers, Alumni Staff and Administrators. The Foundation relies on the entire community to bring forward the names of those to be considered for these awards through the Gold Star Award Nomination process.

Highline Schools Foundation makes an impact on every student in our district, every day, by providing the resources they need to excel. We support Highline Public Schools’ promise, that “every student is known by name, strength and need, and graduates ready for college, career and citizenship.”
