Did you Know:
Highline Public Schools has nearly 20,000 students in 42 different school sites
26% of our students are English Language Learners – meaning English is not the language they speak at home. We have 101 different languages and dialects spoken at home in our district
As of May 2016, over 63% of our student population are on the free or reduced lunch program, meaning their family income falls below the poverty line
As of November, 2016, we have 697 students who qualify for McKinney-Vento services and over the last several years this number continues to increase in Highline
State Funding for Education makes up 64% of our district’s budget – forcing the District to find funding elsewhere in order to keep their core programs

The Highline Schools Foundation funding priorities focus on:
- Programs to improve academic achievement
- Supporting college and career readiness
- Grants to teachers for engaging classroom projects
- The Arts
- Programs that keep students in school and productive.
