Employee Giving

2016 Collective Cup Winners

Congrats to the winners of the 2016 Collective Impact Cup! Highline Public School’s staff raised $78K for students.

Highline Schools Foundation’s mission is to provide community resources to help students in our district succeed. The Foundation is the only nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting all Highline Public Schools.

Highline Public School employees care … and it shows!

Every year, since 2002, many employees of Highline Public Schools have contributed a part of their paychecks to Highline Schools Foundation through the annual Employee Giving Campaign, conducted in conjunction with Highline Public Schools and United Way.

We realize how hard our teachers work and we are always inspired by their generosity to the Foundation!

Where your donation goes:

  • Classrooms: We support basic and innovative classroom needs through our Excel Grant program— we awarded $100,865 through Excel Grants and $10,000 through the annual Impact Grant in 2016!
  • Arts & Athletics: We help get students new or refurbished musical instruments, support arts programming in schools and help cover sports participation fees so students in need can play their desired sport.
  • College & Career Readiness: We offer substantial needs-based college scholarship programs for both 4 year and 2 year institutions for our district’s graduating seniors and partner with the district on a scholarship program for outstanding scholar/athletes.
  • Homeless Students & Families: About 65% of our district’s students live in poverty. To date, there are 697 students who qualify for McKinney-Vento services and over the last several years this number continues to increase in Highline. The Foundation provides support for their basic needs like food and clothing, so they can come to school ready to learn.

Inspirus Credit UnionA big THANK YOU to Inspirus Credit Union (previously known as The School Employees Credit Union of Washington) who has donated matching grants to the Highline Schools Foundation since 2008 for each donation made by one of its members during the annual Employee Giving Drive!
