Sharon Wilson retired from the district in 2009 after many years of services as a teacher, reading specialist and coach. Her passion and energy for teaching was evident in every conversation. She remains dedicated to student success and to improve the quality of instruction for all students. Sharon began the Principals Certification program in 2007. Unfortunately, her health did not allow her to complete the program. The Sharon Wilson Memorial Principal's Scholarship enables others to complete what she could not. Today, after her passing, we are proud to tell her story and help carry on her legacy of providing quality education to Highline Public Schools.
Sharon and Dave Wilson designed this scholarship to support a Highline School District staff member obtain their Principal Certification. It is a $3,000 scholarship distributed over a 2 year period. Candidates will be required to prove financial need, complete the application and have two (2) current letters of recommendation from district Principals.
The winner of the 2010 Sharon Wilson Memorial Principal's Scholarship is Ted Martin. He is attending the University of Washington - Danforth Educational Leadership Program. Congratulations!
